The Fuji-Narusawa
spring is thought to be the original spring in the Mt. Fuji district.
It is also the closest spring to Mt. Fuji’s oldest crater, where basalt has accumulated
from the last seven eruptions. The water originates from 300 meters below the
ground, a depth greater than the bottom of Lake Kawaguchi. It flows through seven
layers of ancient basalt stone capturing minerals along the way. This results
in an end product that is said to contain more minerals than any other water
from the Mt. Fuji district.
